Fathom's all digital electro-optical architecture focuses innovation precisely in this area, enabling orders of magnitude more data bandwidth at the chip, rack, and warehouse-scale. This high-bandwidth architecture brings ML performance improvements significantly beyond what is possible in electronics-only systems.
One of our long-term goals is to build the hardware to train neural networks with the same number of parameters as the human brain has synapses (>100 trillion).
